Soul Searching is About Asking the Right Questions

It’s all about asking the right questions. Don’t fool yourself as a leader to believe that the whole company has understood what its purpose is when you come out of meeting with your first line of leadership who all told you that “now everybody is clear”. Chances are that clarity ends outside the boardroom.

Embedding purpose so that it becomes a shared purpose is key to every leader. Leveraging that shared purpose to drive corporate strategy and create a shared understanding inside the organization is the critical next step. When both are in place, designing the desired behaviors becomes important to ensure that purpose and understanding are lived inside the company.
